Coach Julia Felarca
Julia is a former collegiate swimmer who's wonderful with little kids — patient, playful, and endlessly encouraging. She meets each child exactly where they are, turning first-day jitters into big smiles and real skills, so every swimmer finishes the season comfortable and confident in the water.
What your season buys
The full season is 14 small-group lessons of 30 focused minutes each — every Monday and Wednesday from Sept 14 through Oct 29, always with a lifeguard on deck. Here's what that works out to per lesson:
Good to know
Does my child need to know how to swim?
Not at all — this program is built for first-timers. With one coach for every five swimmers, kids get real hands-on attention, and Coach Julia starts every child at their own comfort level.
My child is nervous around water. Is that okay?
Very okay — that's most of our swimmers on day one. Lessons are short (30 minutes), playful, and confidence-first. Building comfort in the water is the whole point of the program.
Do you allow swim diapers?
No — every swimmer must be fully potty trained. It keeps the pool open and every lesson on schedule for all the families in the program.
Do I need to stay during lessons?
That's up to you — it's your kid, parent how you see fit. Plenty of families stay and watch from the stands (we just ask that parents stay off the pool deck itself, unless you've arranged it with Coach Julia). And since we have your contact info, it's no big deal to slip out for a bite — or get your own workout in at the same facility with a Facility Pass day pass — just keep your phone handy.
What should we bring?
A swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes. Goggles are optional but many kids like them. We'll email anything else you need before the first lesson.
Which days and times are lessons?
Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept 14 – Oct 29, in the shallow end of the pool (the advanced swim clinic trains at the same time). Group 1 (ages 5–6) swims 4:30–5:00pm and Group 2 (ages 7–8) swims 5:10–5:40pm — each group capped at 5 swimmers. If demand allows, additional times will open: a third group at 5:45–6:15pm and a 4:00–4:30pm slot — you can request either at checkout and we'll confirm.
Where is the pool? What about parking?
The Chabot College pool, 25555 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward — use the B parking lot near the pool entrance.
Ready for their first strokes?
Registration is for the full Sept 14 – Oct 29 season — Monday & Wednesday 30-minute lessons in age groups of five, with a lifeguard on deck.
Have an older swimmer too?
Two more clinics are coming to the Chabot College pool this spring. Days, times, and pricing are being finalized — stay tuned!

Terms & Conditions
Please read these before registering. Checking the box at checkout means you agree to them on behalf of each child you enroll.
Read the full Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement
By registering, checking the agreement box, and paying, the parent/guardian agrees to these Terms on behalf of themselves and each child enrolled, and confirms they are the child's parent or legal guardian.
2. The program
Fall 2026 Tiny Tots — Learn to Race program, Sept 14 – Oct 29, 2026, held at Chabot College, 25555 Hesperian Blvd (B parking lot), Hayward, CA. Lessons run Mondays and Wednesdays, about 30 minutes each, in the shallow end of the pool alongside the advanced swim clinic, with a lifeguard on deck. Swimmers are placed in age groups capped at 5 swimmers each: Group 1 (ages 5–6) 4:30–5:00pm and Group 2 (ages 7–8) 5:10–5:40pm, additional times (4:00–4:30pm and a third group, 5:45–6:15pm) may be added based on demand. The schedule may shift with facility availability, since the pool is shared with other facility users. The program is designed for children ages 5 to 8 who are new to swimming: every child must be fully potty trained (no swim diapers). Parents are welcome to watch from the stands but must stay off the pool deck during lessons (unless arranged with the instructor); if you leave the facility during a lesson, the emergency contact number you provided at registration must remain reachable. Program instructors are independent contractors (1099) engaged by Facility Pass — they are not employees or agents of Facility Pass.
3. Registration & payment
Pricing is one-time, full-season, per child: $375. A separate fee applies to each child. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we don't store full card details. A spot is held only once payment is completed and you receive a confirmation. Space is limited.
4. Refunds & cancellation
All registration fees are final and non-refundable — including for missed lessons, schedule conflicts, or voluntary withdrawal. The only exception: if the pool becomes completely unavailable for more than two consecutive weeks during the season, a prorated refund will be issued for the lessons missed during that closure. Refund requests under this exception should be sent to support@facility-pass.com with the child's name and order code.
5. Assumption of risk, release & indemnification
Swimming and aquatic instruction carry inherent risks, including slips, fatigue, collisions, and the risk of serious injury or drowning. You voluntarily accept these risks. To the fullest extent permitted by California law, you release and hold harmless Facility Pass and Chabot College, together with their respective owners, instructors (who are independent contractors), staff, volunteers, and facility partners, from claims arising from ordinary negligence. This does not waive liability for gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct, or any rights that cannot be waived under California law. You agree to indemnify these parties for claims arising from a violation of these Terms or facility rules, to the extent permitted by law.
6. Medical & emergency care
You confirm each child is healthy enough to participate and will disclose any relevant medical condition, allergy, or limitation at registration. If you can't be reached in an emergency, you authorize program staff to seek emergency medical care for the child; you are responsible for any resulting costs.
7. Photo & media
We may photograph or record lessons for promotion. By registering you permit Facility Pass to use such images without compensation. To opt out, email support@facility-pass.com before the first lesson.
8. Code of conduct
Swimmers and families follow all instructor and lifeguard directions and posted pool rules. Respectful behavior is expected from swimmers and families. We may suspend or remove a child for unsafe or repeatedly disruptive conduct; removal for cause may not entitle you to a refund.
9. Health, safety & schedule changes
Lessons may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled for weather (lightning, air quality, extreme heat), facility closures, or safety concerns. We'll communicate changes by email and follow the host facility's safety policies and on-deck lifeguards.
10. Privacy
Information you provide is used to run the program, communicate with you, and keep a roster. Payment is handled by Stripe under its own terms. We don't sell your information.
11. Changes, governing law & contact
The version of these Terms in effect at the time of your registration applies to it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Questions: support@facility-pass.com · facility-pass.com.
By checking the box at checkout and completing payment, I confirm I am the parent or legal guardian of each child enrolled, that each child is fully potty trained, and I agree to these Terms, including the assumption of risk and release in section 5 and the emergency-care authorization in section 6.
